The Mount Pleasant High
School team participates in the
Comcast Academic Challenge Quiz Bowl, a
competition between all high schools in the State of Delaware.
Although a
qualification test is given at the beginning of each school year, we do
not eliminate anyone from the team who wants to participate.
Many of the tournaments allow multiple teams, so we would love to have
everyone who's interested to come on out
Membership on the
team provides the opportunity for students to compete with students from
other schools in a display quick recall of information. The
Academic Bowl is broadcasted on a local cable television channel on
Comcast. |

The Comcast Academic Challenge of Delaware is a scholastic competition
where area public and private high schools vie for scholarship money,
academic prowess, and the chance to compete at the national level and

test with questions related to math, science, history and other topics.
A total of 22 Delaware schools took part in this year's competition.
Comcast has been the sole sponsor and organizer of the competition for
ten years. It is an educational initiative organized by the Comcast
Delmarva government affairs team, which recruits the schools, organizes
the month-long competition, staffs the competition events and produces
the accompanying championship video, in addition to providing the
scholarship prizes.
The championship will be available for viewing on Comcast. In Kent and
Sussex Counties , it will air on CDN (Comcast Delmarva Network) on
