Interact debuted at Mount Pleasant High School under the leadership of former principal Dr. Dennis Runyan in 2002.  The organization is sponsored by the Brandywine Rotary Club, celebrating 50 years (1955 - 2005).  Some of the projects include bell ringing for the Salvation Army, elfing at Rockwood Park, making and delivering baskets for the Salvation Army.

Members of Mount Pleasant High School's Interact club served dinner on
Saturday, February 3 at the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington.

Members spent most of their afternoon and evening preparing dinner for the families of patients in AI Dupont Children's Hospital. The students enjoyed learning how to plan and prepare a meal for 70 people and, more importantly, helping families in need of support during a trying time.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 14-18. The program gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends.

Through service activities, Interactors learn the importance of:

...Developing leadership skills and personal integrity;

...Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others; and

...Advancing international understanding and goodwill.

MPHS Interact also sponsors needy children through Children International.
