On Friday, February 23, 2007
Mount Pleasant High School sent three members of the World Affairs club
(pictured above) to a Mock International Court of Justice sponsored by
the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. The students participated in
a role-playing court case debating the territorial dispute between India
and Pakistan over the Kashmir region.
Freshmen Peter Andrews and Alexey Shiklomanov shared the
role of a witness for Pakistan. Peter Andrews presented the case to the
court and was the witness Pakistan chose to recall. Zach Leonard,
president of the school World Affairs Club, played the role of Raymond
Ranjeva, judge from Madagascar.
This is the first event in which the club has participated. Mount
Pleasant was the only school from Delaware represented at this event.
