WMPH Policies for Students

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

MUST BE IN 9TH, 10TH, 11TH OR 12TH GRADES CURRENTLY ATTENDING MOUNT PLEASANT, BRANDYWINE, OR CONCORD HIGH SCHOOLS

The student must first obtain a signature from either one parent or guardian to authorize his/her son or daughter permission to participate at the WMPH-FM extracurricular workshops. The permission slip is part of the student personnel card at the Broadcast Learning Center. Noted on the permission slip is the time period duration of the workshops, parental responsibility for student conduct and agreement to allow son or daughter access to the studios after school.

A workshop roster of all participating students will be submitted to the school guidance counselor at the beginning of the workshop period.

In order to be eligible for participation, each student must pursue a regular course or its equivalent approved by the Department of Public Instruction, and must be passing at least four credits. Two of these credits must be in the academic areas of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

In the case of any 12th grade student, that student must be passing all courses required for graduation from high school to be eligible.

A student whose work in any regular marking period does not meet these standards shall be ineligible to participate in activities for the next marking period. A student loses or gains eligibility with the issuing of the report card. A semester or final grade will determine eligibility over a marking period grade. A student may earn credits in an acceptable summer program to regain eligibility from failing grades of the last report card.
