WMPH-TV
The morning announcements at
Mount Pleasant High School are broadcast via closed-circuit television
(Ch. 37) to the entire student body. WMPH-TV is a daily newscast produced
by students enrolled in the curriculum of the Broadcast Learning Center.
When student programs are not being aired on WMPH-TV, the station airs a
continuous PowerPoint slide show of school announcements.
A second closed-circuit television station (Ch. 32) has been added
featuring student videos and short films.
The television studio objectives are to...
* provide students the opportunity to work hands-on in a television
studio environment and field production
* develop a daily newscast for school announcements
* learn broadcast video applications
* produce a live and/or pre-recorded program
* work with camera, lights, sets, switcher and other technical equipment
* learn casting and rehearsal techniques, script, story and scene
analysis, and the use of storyboards, art direction and how to deal with
key departments and the producer
