Information on Delaware State Testing Program

The Brandywine School District has a comprehensive plan to help students meet the criteria for an Academic Diploma. Students must also take the state reading, writing and mathematics state tests to determine their level of performance. Any student who earned a performance level below 3 on the state reading or mathematics tests will receive a letter from the guidance office detailing an Individual Improvement Plan. The plan may include any or all of the following recommendations:

• The student attends after-school enrichment classes offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:00 PM (bus transportation provided);
• The student attends Saturday morning enrichment classes (no transportation provided);
• The student attends the summer enrichment program. Parents and students will be asked to sign the Individual Improvement Plan.

State Test Performance Levels
Level 5 - Distinguished
Level 4 - Exceeds the Standard
Level 3 - Meets the Standard
Level 2 - Below the Standard
Level 1 - Well Below Standard

March 5-6 - Mathematics Assessment, Grades 9-10 & Grade 10 Retest
March 10-11 -  Reading Assessment, Grades 9-10 & Grade 10 Retest
March 13-14 -  Writing Assessment, Grades 9-10 & Grade 10 Retest
March 7,12, 17-19 -  Assessment Make-up Grades 9-10 & Grade 10 Retest
May 20-21 -  Science and Social Studies, Grade 11
