WMPH Radio, a Broadcast Learning Center of the Brandywine School District.
WMPH 91.7 FM is a professionally operated radio station serving the:
* Educational development of student participants
* Promotional needs of the Brandywine School District
* Listening community with music, entertainment, news and information
WMPH operates three broadcast seasons annually:
* First Semester (September - December)
* Second Semester (January - May)
* Summer Season (June - August)
Students from Mount Pleasant High, Brandywine High and Concord High Schools may
participate at WMPH radio.
There are up to three students per weekly on-air shift. Time slots for students
in training are daily from 2:30-5:30 PM, 4:30-7:30 PM, 6:30-9:30 PM.

Levels of Student Participation
LEVEL ONE - assisting in both stations, gathering information, doing audio
editing
LEVEL TWO - working on the air at WMPH 2 Internet Radio and voice tracking
LEVEL THREE - working on the air at WMPH 91.7 FM radio station
Students also have the opportunity to assist in departments such as music, news,
traffic, promotions, engineering, etc.
About WMPH
WMPH is Delaware's first high school radio station serving the needs and
interests of our community since 1969. WMPH serves in the educational process of
instructing students in the proper techniques and procedures at a professional
broadcast facility. Licensed by the Federal Communications Commission as a
non-commercial radio station at 91.7 FM, WMPH transmits 24 hours everyday
reaching northern Delaware including portions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and
Maryland. Over a half million people have the potential of listening to WMPH
radio.

The recording studio objectives are to...
* provide overview of musical components, tape formats & operating levels
* use microphones, equalizers, reverb, compressors to achieve professional
recording
* learn stereo recording then editing with both voices and instruments in either
a live concert environment or acoustic room setting
* work with speakers and amplifiers for sound reinforcement

Sound Reinforcement
The sound reinforcement objectives are to...
* learn applications for live sound applications & facility installations such
as:
> Performance (Concert, Theatre, Civic, Sports, School)
> Sacred Gatherings (Religious, Fixed or Mobile)
> Corporate AV (Business, Government)
> Installed Systems (Retail, Civic, Church, Hotel/Resort, Residential, Sports,
School, Theatre, Themed)
> Nightclub (Club, Disco, Pub, DJ Sports Bar)
> Recording (Live & Sound)
