DID YOU KNOW each edition of the Brandywine Review costs taxpayers over $7,000?!? Printing and mailing to EVERY residence in the entire school district (whether or not the residence has children in school) is costly. And exactly WHAT is really in each edition? A bunch of BS(D). Oh, lest we forget the salary of the Public Information Office whose primary duty is to produce this propaganda tabloid. After recalculating the costs of printing, mailing, PIO salary, and other expenses, the Brandywine Review costs taxpayers an estimated $25,000 per edition.

DID YOU KNOW the former superintendent from 2006-2009 eliminated the position of Public Information Officer calling it a waste?

The current superintendent recreated the position in the 2009-2010 school year... the same year he laid off over 70 teachers and support staff yet every administrator got a raise!

DID YOU KNOW that in 2010, they closed the district radio station WMPH saying they had 'no money'?  Yet after letting go of the manager of 17 years and shutting down the operation, they spent over $40,000 in unnecessary renovations to bring it back a year later.  What a waste!  If the district decides to "promote" their referendum on WMPH 91.7 FM, they are required by federal law (Federal Communications Commission) per election rules to give equal time to opponents like Occupy BSD.  Let's see if they cooperate.

DID YOU KNOW the district still spends 8 million dollars annually on just administrative salaries alone?  Why do we need so many administrators?  Each school has about four (principal, assistant principal, assistant to the principal, and sometimes dean of students).  Let's take a look at district office too!  Why does the district have their very own attorney on staff?  Most districts and organizations utilize the resources of an entire law firm, not the legal opinions of a sole individual.  Click HERE for BSD salary details not including benefits and perks.
