On June 15, 2006 three schools in the Brandywine School District were celebrated in the First Annual Clean Schools Contest. A panel of impartial district judges visited all the schools during the week of June 1-6 to critique each school’s cleanliness based on a variety of pre-determined factors. Criteria for scoring was based on the following categories, totaling 100 points: Grounds, Hallways, Classrooms/Offices, Restrooms, Mechanical Areas,  General Maintenance, Code Compliance, Kitchen/Cafeteria, Overall WOW factor The schools were categorized into three divisions based on the overall size of the building. One winner was chosen from each category and those winners were then ranked by total points to generate a first, second and third place winner. The winners for the First Annual Clean School Contest are:     First Place – Maple Lane Elementary – Division III     Second Place – Mt. Pleasant High School – Division I     Third Place – Springer Middle School – Division II
