DID YOU KNOW the Brandywine School District want to raise your property taxes... AGAIN?!?

This is called a REFERENDUM.  If the referendum passes, your property taxes will increase forever.

DID YOU KNOW apartment dwellers get a 'free ride' for public education?  Renters do not pay property taxes that help fund our Delaware public schools.

DID YOU KNOW many students attend BSD schools illegally?  Minors from neighboring Pennsylvania schools including Chester falsify information and correct residence.  BSD taxpayers get stuck with not only problem students, but the financial burden.

DID YOU KNOW the biggest problem in the school classroom is DISCIPLINE.  The continuous interruptions of defiant students take a significant percentage of valuable classroom time.  This is obviously unfair to good students that behave properly and want to learn.

Our Vote

The date to vote for the referendum to raise your taxes is March 28, 2012.  It is set for that Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

There are 18 polling places to cast your vote.

The public vote is listed on the State of Delaware's site.  Click HERE.

Be sure to encourage everyone you know who's eligible to vote AGAINST the Brandywine School District referendum.

Tell the Brandywine School District to budget accordingly with the resources they already have.  The have millions.  Let's not give them more to waste.

Their Strategy

Committees assigning priorities to tax referendum proposals

"Scheduling the referendum in March -- two months ahead of the time when school elections are usually held -- provides a window for another try if voters reject the initial proposal before the board has to set the fiscal 2013 rate. State law limits districts to holding no more than two referendums in any 12-month period. All district residents age 18 and older are eligible to vote in a school election irrespective of whether they are registered to vote in general elections." Source: delaforum.com

With our hopeful anticipation of a March referendum defeat, BSD will try again.  Guaranteed.  They will threaten to cut programs.  They will spin a doomsday scenario.  This has been their proven strategy in the past.  Don't be intimidated by them.  Let them cut administrative positions and top salaries instead (of course, they won't).
